Waves_On_Waves x Timecop1983 x Waves On Waves 1987 x Pastel Arcade Honours The 1980s With ‘Dangerous’

Following on from Waves_On_Waves’ previous single, ‘Started Catching Feelings‘, we’re pleased to bring another wonderfully retro track from this project, ‘Dangerous’. This time also featuring Timecop1983 and Pastel Arcade.

With luscious sensuality, ‘Dangerous’ feels like it could be a newly discovered release from an 80s legend, such as Corey Hart, or Richard Marx. The listener is caught up in a swirling sonic, synth-heavy melody, with Chris Sevier’s vocals buoyant, as if they were caught on an ocean wave, and very much living up to the title of his project. With retro analog synths, pulsing bass, and the smoothest of smooth electric drums, we are transported back to the heady days of the 80s, thanks to the songwriting brilliance of Timecop1983 and Pastel Arcade.

A song that evokes 80s nostalgic feelings deserves a music video to match, and the clip for ‘Dangerous’ certainly delivers. Honouring the icons of that decade, it weaves together scenes from some of its most memorable films. Actresses such as Courtney Cox, Molly Ringwald, Jennifer Grey, Meg Ryan, and many more (let us know in the comments who else you can spot!), spoke to and for Generation X, and filled our minds with ideas of romance and happy endings. For those of us who lived it, the 1980s is a time to be treasured, and treated with reverence, and in the hands of Waves_Upon_Waves, it’s certainly getting the respect it deserves.
