Grand Nathaniel Pulls Us Into His World With ‘And I Will’

It’s been years since we’ve heard from Grand Nathaniel – almost exactly five, as it happens – but we’re glad to share the latest release from J Burton’s project, ‘And I Will’.

A strong prospect straight out of the gate, Grand Nathaniel is able to capture the listener instantly with highly textured melodies, telling his story by way of shimmering soundscapes, conjuring up visions of dreamy woodlands, with paths that stretch out ahead of us for miles. His sound is soothing and dreamy, lulling and relaxing the listener with a style that is reminiscent of the likes of early Fleetwood Mac, and perhaps The Alan Parsons Project.

‘And I Will’, with its nostalgic lo-fi vibe, is the first of nine songs from Grand Nathaniel’s upcoming album, ‘Lonely Wanderer’, which is set for release on the 14th of November. Each track is part of a concept, a nine song-video album, whereby each is released with an accompanying video, drawing the audience deeper into his story. It’s a wonderful concept; it takes the boundary between film and sound and immerses us fully into his world. Do we ever want to leave? Not just yet, at least.
