Ron Brunk’s latest single, ‘You Make Me Crazy’, sees the singer-songwriter pays homage to what he calls, “joyful dying”, and is paired with a magnificent self-edited music video that embodies his signature spirit.
We willingly go with Ron Brunk as he takes us through a deeply passionate love affair, along with all intoxicating, addicting, and paralysing elements that go with it. The narrator is swept into the current of his lover, and he knows resistance is futile…so he surrenders, heart, soul, body, and mind.
The track, from the album, ‘Zero Hour’, sees Ron at his wildest, with his vocals gritty and grumbling, eerie, dark, and ever so slightly acerbic. By the end, he’s fully caught up in the moment, and so the piano and guitar dispense with harmony and surrender to full on chaos. It’s beautifully unhinged, and quite extraordinary.
The music video for ‘You Make Me Crazy’ sees, in side-by-side shots, Ron’s performance juxtaposed against footage of a dancer twisting, twirling and kicking, as desire overtakes her wholly. Towards the end Ron breaks down the fourth wall, and as he locks eyes with his audience, we are led to wonder who’s making him crazy – perhaps it’s us?
