Branson Anderson Gets A Bit Threatening With ‘Shake Your Bangs’

With inspiration coming from the likes of Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, and The White Stripes, Branson Anderson’s new single will have you not just ‘Shake Your Bangs’, but your booty as well.

Released on November 8, ‘Shake Your Bangs’ might well owe something to ‘Tusk’, by Fleetwood Mac. The strong, almost tribal drum rhythms are reminiscent of that in ‘Tusk’, and you half expect him to burst out with “don’t say that you love me!” at any second. But there’s so much more to Anderson, who, while now based in Salt Lake City, is originally from Logandale, Nevada. His rich vocals are almost angry sounding in the force with which he shouts out the refrain, it’s determined and vibrant, perfectly synced with the drumbeats.

Anderson has a folk country voice that sounds like it’d work well with just an acoustic guitar, but ‘Shake Your Bangs’ is powerfully electric, and from time to time he sings so closely into the mic that it feels more than a bit threatening. I love it!
