BOSCO Explores A New Direction In Rock Track And Video, ‘Shotgun Paradise’

Starting his musical journey at the age of 5 with a cheap Mickey Mouse guitar bought for him by his mother, BOSCO has since explored a diverse range of genres, including folk rock, pop, blues, jazz, and good ol’ rock’n’roll. His music, while deeply personal, still resonates with a wider audience, and his videos serve as a raw and unfiltered reflection of a life spent pursuing the artistic truth.

BOSCO’s latest release, ‘Shotgun Paradise’, is the start of a whole new chapter for the artist, and is the first in a series of stories, protests, and bold statements, showcasing his unique voice. Blending rebellious energy and thought-provoking narratives, ‘Shotgun Paradise’ sets out to establish the tone for what is still to come.

The music video for ‘Shotgun Paradise’, directed by Jared Sagal and filmed in England, moved quickly from the song’s raw expression of protest into a captivating story about a retired football star. Featuring the talented John Farnworth, who makes his living as a football freestyler, entertainer, and actor, the clip sees his character join forces with a young boy. Farnworth performs mesmerising soccer tricks, distracting people in a pedestrian shopping mall so the boy can pickpocket them, and otherwise steal things. The visual metaphor that’s created complements perfectly the edgy undertones of the song. While the clip is often playful and cinematic, the lyrics are deeply personal to BOSCO, representative of a specific moment of violence and the broader themes of power and protest.
