Porter Block Is Catching An ‘Ocean Breeze’ With New Pop Release

A cool bevvie, the bright sun, and an offshore breeze are all the perfect backdrop for Porter Block’s new single, ‘Ocean Breeze’. With lilting harmonies and muted guitar arpeggios reminiscent of The Beach Boys, the listener is transported back to the sun-drenched 60s in an homage to those summery sounds that are nonetheless timeless.

The music video takes us there too, with black and white scenes of the band members dressed in striped shirts, and harmonising, interspersed with vintage clips of 60s folk having fun in the sun, with nary a care in the world.

‘Ocean Breeze’ is much more than a throwback though. There’s a tension there which needs to be released, in the Pink Floyd-esque strains of “Save me from these city streets”. Their prayers are answered though, with a cooling ocean breeze, and a new summer of love having its way with them. Suddenly – everything is all right with the world.
