It’s Alicia G’s World And We’re Just A Part Of It – We Speak With This Amazing Artist About Her Music And What’s Next

Life isn’t all just a party for Alicia G, there’s a lot of hard work that goes into her musical career, but you can be certain she’s having a lot of fun along the way. We wrote about her latest single and video, ‘Hey Yo Rodeo‘ earlier this month, so now we’re catching up with Alicia G to find out what makes her tick.

Alicia, please tell us a bit about your background and how you first got into music.

What inspired me to take the initial steps to start pursuing music seriously was my mother and father encouraging me and my fans. My love of music and my amazing fans make my vision come to a reality. I love to entertain, inspire people in a positive light, and most of all to make people smile. Remember, everyone deserves to be truly happy.

You have a diverse musical journey. How did you find your niche in country pop, and what drew you to this genre?

I am very diverse. I started with classical opera went to pop, hip-hop, and even a bit of rap, and finally found my niche and country Pop and I love it. Would drew me to country Pop is growing up doing beauty pageants all over the South and appreciating the southern culture of wonderful country music.

‘Hey Yo Rodeo’ is such a fun and energetic track. What was the inspiration behind this song?

The creative process was wonderful it just flowed and when it came together so easily you know you got a hit!

The music video for ‘Hey Yo Rodeo’ is vibrant and full of life. What was the vision behind the video’s concept?

It’s about a girl looking for her cowboy and the journey she travels to find that special someone. My favorite part about bringing my vision of a music video to life is just the best. I like to call myself a visionary, between myself, the producers, and the videographers we make it happen.

The song includes a dance challenge. How did that idea come about, and how has the response been from your fans?

My new song includes an original dance that I actually created (choreographed ) perfect for TikTok. That idea just came to me from all my years of dance experience. My fans have been loving the song and the dances are flowing in on social media. It’s a great feeling to see my creation come to life.

The video was filmed at a county fair and includes various fun elements like rides and dancing. How did you choose these settings, and what do they add to the overall feel of the video?

Correct! It was filmed at a county fair and also was filmed on the day for the military and first responders seeing I am a huge supporter of the military. I was able to incorporate some of the military aspects and first responders in the video which was a great feeling after all my fans are called AGARMY. It just touched my heart how I could incorporate that into my video. I think what it did was it gave an overall feel that anyone and everyone can relate to because almost anyone can go to the county fair.

How involved were you in the creative direction and production of the music video?

I am very involved in every music video from start to finish. I like to call myself a visionary. I love being able to see my vision come to life.
