Honey Trap Evoke A Sense Of Relentless Pursuit And Adventure With Latest Release, ‘Outlaws’

With fierce hard rock out of New York City, Honey Trap is a female-fronted band, whose signature sound is a unique blend of sensual, yet edgy vocals over melodic guitar, groovy bass licks, and heavy-hitting drum beats. New single, ‘Outlaws’, started with a riff, then, after drawing influences from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Guns N’ Roses, and Soundgarden, it all came together from there.

A stirring rock anthem, ‘Outlaws’ brings into the mix hints of southern metal, as well as elements from the post-grunge era, while the lyrics bring to mind a sense of relentless pursuit and adventure. The rallying cry of the chorus is powerful and unwavering as it emphasises commitment and unity among those who would call themselves renegades. With striking imagery, the verses portray the harsh realities and dangers they face, the added intrigue and urgency buoying the listener on a journey across a vast lyrical landscape.

As vivid as the song is, the video for ‘Outlaws’ is even more so, with a cinematic experience from start to finish, captivating the viewer the entire time. Set in a desert wasteland that is both desolate and futuristically dystopian at the same time, the clip for ‘Outlaws’ is more like a short film than a music video. The band members appear as central characters throughout the story, taking part in Wild West train heists, while guns, horses, and motorcycles embedded into the mix. Honey Trap invite the viewers to come on a journey with them, thrilling and exciting, that transcends time and genre.
