French Producer Petit Biscuit Releases Moving New Single, ‘Cruel Heart’

French producer Petit Biscuit returns with his new single, ‘Cruel Heart’.

Effortlessly blending acoustic elements, electronic production, and vocal manipulations, Petit Biscuit draws from his diverse musical background to craft one-of-a-kind captivating soundscapes. New single, ‘Cruel Heart’, from his latest album, ‘Discipline’, sees Petit Biscuit use a fearless approach to his production, evoking deep emotions with bold textures, and drawing influences from drum and bass, funk, rock, pop, and ambient music, all the while anchoring them in a powerful electronic style.

‘Cruel Heart’ captures the deep complexities of passionate romantic relationships and was first conceived during a trip to California in 2019. The song’s vocal hook had been in the back of Petit Biscuit’s mind for many years, and when his friend Hugo, also known as Madeon, joined the songwriting process, they found they were able to infuse the track with depth and authenticity, fuelled by their late night discussions about life’s paradoxes, and their shared love for character-driven storytelling.

The music video for ‘Cruel Heart’ was directed by Quentin Deronzier, and his vision takes the new single to greater heights, with a captivating narrative, and even more compelling visuals. A key collaborator with Petit Biscuit since the producer started making music, he’s also worked with the likes of The Weeknd, Doja Cat, and Drake. Infusing a cinematic quality into Petit Biscuit’s already deeply evocative sound, the result is a visually stunning masterpiece, amplifying the song’s emotional depth and complexity.
