Tyte x Wizz Havinn Join Forces On New Rap Single, ‘Ask Around’

‘Ask Around’ is the breakthrough single for Tyte, an up and coming artist in the tightly-knit, fiercely competitive rap scene of Tallahassee, Florida. A charismatic artist (ask around if you don’t believe us), Tyte is super secure that he’s got the goods, and if you don’t know him yet, it won’t be long before you do.

With his instantly identifiable voice and confident swagger, Tyte cuts through the mix with every syllable, making his presence felt and his rhymes, puns, and bars riding the thunderous trap beat. The kick drum and hi-hat mark time alongside a catchy synth that holds it all together, while Tyte spits out the lyrics and memorable refrain of ‘Ask Around’.

Tyte is joined by fellow Floridian, Wizz Havinn, and the pair tag team their way through the track, with Wizz being as laid back as Tyte is urgent and effusive. This is also reflected in the music video for ‘Ask Around’, which was masterfully shot by frequent Slip N Slide collaborator, Counterpoint 2.0. There’s plenty of eye-catching elements to the visual, ensuring the viewer feels a part of the action; energetic crowds and dancers on the sidewalk, tail lights, trap houses, and hot city streets. It’s the rappers who are the focus of course, with Tyte ever present, coming at the camera, sometimes in a group, and sometimes on his own. He’s not menacing, but at the same time he’s particularly welcoming: all in all he exudes the confidence of an emerging artist we’re going to hear a lot more from – just ask around.
