With a headline show at London’s music venue Colours, on World Mental Health Day (October 10th), Reading-based singer/songwriter Etham heads on a busking tour across the UK. In support of one of the nation’s leading mental health charities, YoungMinds, Etham will raise funds along his six-cities journey with acoustic, intimate busking performances.
This year, Etham has been gradually teasing his upcoming EP ‘Petterns,’ with the unveiling of singles ‘I Won’t,’ ‘Guilty,’ ‘Waiting for You,’ and ‘Know Me Yet.’ His vulnerable songwriting makes him a standout talent and an inspiring role model for other people who might be going through it.
Hoping to offer a helping hand, Etham uses his platform and expressive vocals to turn the lights on for those who struggle alone in the darkness. With stops in Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, London and Brighton, Etham will brighten people’s day-to-day with laid-back busking sets.
Etham shared his personal motivation for collaborating with YoungMinds, stating,
“I’m just such a huge fan and an admirer of what [YoungMinds] do and how they specifically help younger people. As a kid growing up, I was unfortunate and fortunate to experience some real highs and lows of being a kid. My parents split up when I was 9 years old, but the things that unfolded between my parents were incredibly messy and hard to watch or be around… I feel that because of my experiences, it really drive me to want to help in any way I can to let those in need know that they’re not alone and that, like me, you can come out of it as a strong-driven person and succeed even when the odds are against you.”
Tom Madders, Director of Campaigns at YoungMinds, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership with Etham:
“We’re delighted that Etham has chosen to support YoungMinds on his UK busking tour and headline London concert on World Mental Health Day… The money raised will help us to continue to deliver guidance to young people, campaign for change, and equip the adults around a young person to support them with their mental health.
Stay tuned to Etham’s Instagram; he will be sharing more details, you don’t want to miss it! In the mean time check out the new lyric video for his latest single ‘Know Me Yet’.
