American pop musician Casey Baer is set to release her latest single, the pop rock single ‘ptxd’ on August 4. A play on the term PTSD, PTXD stands for “post traumatic ex disorder” – the trauma a bad breakup can bring upon a person. Coming off a tour with German chart-topping pop rock band Tokio Hotel, Baer has been hard at work on her own music, which shows in her latest single, ‘ptxd’.
The Los Angeles based songstress has taken plenty of influence from other famous artists such as Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift in her 22 years of life, while also being shaped by the trauma and bottled-up emotions in her youth. She showed that influence when performing her own music on tour with artists such as Jesse McCartney, WeThree and the aforementioned Tokio Hotel, getting on stage at sold out shows and moving the crowds with ease. With millions of streams on major DSPs, Baer has become an incredibly successful indie artist, and seeks to further her success with her latest single, ‘ptxd’.
As previously mentioned, the song is a pop rock anthem with high energy instrumentation and emotional lyrics that anyone with similar trauma can relate to. Although the music and lyrics contrast in a way, Baer’s vocals help them to mesh together perfectly, creating an energetic mix with a relatable message and a catchy tune. Baer seeks to remind people that they’re not alone in the trauma they experience, with ‘ptxd’ following that theme perfectly.
