Get your motor (scooter) running for the new single by Waydown Wailers. The group, which comprises brothers Dave and Christian Parker, along with drummer Mike “Scruffy” Scriminger, Conner Pelkey on bass, and Joe Thomas’s keyboards, formed in the early 2010s, and their latest single, ‘Motor Scooter’, is a rollicking ride, with a fun music video to go with it.
The new single, ‘Motor Scooter’, is the latest track from Waydown Wailers’ upcoming album, ‘Miles Of Roads’, their fourth on Woodstock Records. A rocky tune that turns up the gas on the blues, it’s a playful tune which sees front man Dave growling out scenes from the life of someone whose motorcycle is an extension of themselves. The track grooves hard with drums, organ, and slide guitar, teetering on the edge of psychedelia at times before regaining the original balance of rock and blues.
The music video for ‘Motor Scooter’ sees Dave and Joe out on a run. After being chased out of a bar, they set off on their bikes, laughing and smiling in the crisp autumn colours of Upstate New York. Meanwhile they encounter drummer Scruffy, who’s acting the part of a drifter on the roadside; they leave him in their dust. It’s a whole lot of fun from first note to last – we challenge you to not at least crack a grin!
