Amanda Holley isn’t a stranger to the entertainment industry, having performed professionally since she was a child on- and off-off-Broadway. But music was always in her heart, and with more than 38 thousand followers on Instagram alone this R&B and soul singer is certainly making waves. Amanda Holley’s new single and video, ‘Fav Flavor’ is bound to see make even more of a buzz among the music biz professionals than she has already.
Whenever Amanda Holley posts herself playing piano on her Instagram, she gets thousands and thousands of views, and just as many comments. She has a musician’s soul, and her fans know. Among those who love her work are some big names – Grammy winner Brian Stanley, The Gorillaz, Temptations songwriter Jimmy George, and Cuba Gooding, the latter of whom called her “a beautiful young artist with a fantastic voice.” Her 2020 debut single, ‘Feenin’, saw her perform at The Carnegie Hall, a Coachella afterparty, and – amazingly – the United Nations. Not only that, Amanda had the title track on Showtime’s film, ‘Sharon 123’, and also starred on a reality show.
‘Fav Flavor’ was released as the follow up single to her hits, ‘Code’, and ‘Run Away’, and it’s had quite the reception, so much so that she’s released a remix. Produced by OhKayLaws, the track has been called “enticing and addictive” by Music Arena GH, while CLOUT said it was “both nostalgic and familiar but with enough cool sonic moments and slick production to make it feel revitalisingly modern”.
All this praise is now joined by a music video, just as compelling as the track itself. Co-directed by Amanda and Mikey Piliero, it opens with Amanda and her friends hanging out in her room, bathed in a deep pink light. They eat candy bars, and dip strawberries and bananas in melted chocolate, while lines like “the taste of you is my favorite flavor” give us the idea that she’s not necessarily concerned with the snacks they’re eating.
