Sometimes you know you’re onto a good thing, even if it takes decades to complete it. That’s certainly the case with Fox Apts. and their upcoming album, ‘Omen’.
‘Founders’ Blues’, one of the tracks on ‘Omen’, was covered in Luca Guadagnino’s new movie, ‘Bones And All’, by actors Michael Stuhlbarg and David Gordon Green. Sure, the scene was deleted from the final film, but as the video below shows, the song is an instant classic.
‘Omen’, set for release on April 7, expands on the previously released 3 track EP, ‘Two for Midnight, One for Noon’, from December last year, which included ‘Founders’ Blues’, as well as ‘Come And See’ and ‘Goliath Lumber Co.’. All three tracks will be included on ‘Omen’, so if you want to get a taste of what is to come on ‘Omen’, check out the EP on Bandcamp.
‘Founders’ Blues’ is an eerie, captivating track, banjo and bowed banjo providing the primary instrumentation, giving it a backwoods vibe that’s further emphasised by the languid vocals. The song is accompanied by an equally mysterious music video, featuring polaroid photos of people, cars, houses, and unidentifiable objects. The pictures are laid on vintage table cloths, rugs, and rustic old boxes. All in all this adds to the very rustic, and unsettling vibe that runs through ‘Founders’ Blues’.
