There’s a lot of great music coming out of Australia these days, and we want to put Cleo Alexandra on your radar, if she’s not already on it. With her new single and video, ‘Dream Fever’, Cleo takes synths and a hard rock style, and blends them with the panache of an 80s superstar.
Cleo has been aiming for the stars since the tender age of 5, when she first started to examine her creative side, and write poetry and songs. She started singing and playing musical instruments at the same time, and now we witness that childhood dream coming becoming a reality. In full possession of powerhouse vocals and having a knack for finding a unique niche in music, Cleo Alexandra has forged her place in the industry by way of incredible renditions of classic tracks.
Cleo caught the eye of six-time Grammy winner, American producer Keith Olsen, as well as producer JJ Farris, who worked with her on her debut single, ‘Criminal’, back in 2016. Now she returns with ‘Dream Fever’, and it’s bound to reach the same stratospheric heights.
‘Dream Fever’ focuses on that fiery passion that comes with a new relationship. Taking inspiration from her own love life, Cleo sings of that almost out-of-body experience one has when finally meeting someone who fully understands and knows her true value. Toxic love is banished for good, while ‘Dream Fever’ takes you to that place where you are free to embrace pure romance.
Edgy guitar and strong percussive beats, combined with glam-rock-esque elements give ‘Dream Fever’ that lift which ensures it reaches the next level. The music video, features racy visuals, high energy, and a lot of red – is it for danger, a warning that ‘Dream Fever’ cannot last? Or is it just symbolic of the deep passions she’s experiencing? Whatever it is, it’s certainly positioned Cleo Alexandra as someone to look out for.
