Sir Elton John And Britney Spears Are Set To Release New Single, ‘Hold Me Closer’

In what will be Britney Spears‘ first release since her 2016 album ‘Glory’ (the deluxe version of which was released in 2020), it’s been confirmed that she will soon be releasing a duet with Sir Elton John. Representatives from both artists confirm that they’ve recorded a rework of Elton’s hit song from 1971, ‘Tiny Dancer’, which they’ve renamed, ‘Hold Me Closer’.

While Britney hasn’t said anything about the release, she has said on various Instagram posts that she’s been working on something called ‘Project Rose’. Sir Elton, meanwhile, posted on his social media accounts yesterday, an image with the song’s title against a pink background, under which were emojis of a red rose, and a rocket – clearly symbolising Britney and the Rocket Man himself.

The new release has been produced by Grammy Award winner, Andrew Watt, who has previously worked with Sir Elton on his 2021 album, ‘The Lockdown Sessions‘.

No date has been set for the single’s release as yet, but fans can pre-save it here.
