Ready Steady Die! Want Us To ‘Kiss It’ In Their Latest Drop

Alt rockers Ready Steady Die! return with their sexy new single, ‘Kiss It’.

Comprising New York based composer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Morgan Visconti, and Londoner Sam K, this pair have been on our radar for a few years now, as they combine not just their members but their sound across the pond. The pair have a clever approach to themes from modern life, examining it with a raw irreverence and rebellious souls. Their upcoming album, ‘Accidents’, will be welcomed by their many fans, and new single, ‘Kiss It’, is the third release from this long player.

With ‘Kiss It’ Sam K oozes all sensuality by way of borderline raunchy lyrics, and that’s not where the sexy ends. Even the staccato’d synths serve as foreplay, while the bass runs are like a full on orgy. Ohhh yeahh.

The accompanying video is just as sexy, although at first it feels like it’s been made for kids. Directed by Max Clendaniel, it opens with our host, clad in a sweater a la Mr Rogers, suggesting we have some fun with shadow puppets. It’s from here that it all goes terribly wrong, very very fast. The puppets start to do it like they do it on the Discovery Channel, and while at first glance it feels like a hedonistic fever dream, the puppets exhibit resilience against the host’s attempts at repressing their urges. In the end, the clip becomes a reflection of our simultaneous obsession with sex and denial of it.
