Decarta Releases Latest Single, ‘Having A Party Tonight’

Decarta is the project of Birmingham-based reggae artist, Paddy Dowling. Formerly a band, it’s now Paddy’s solo project, and is heavily influenced by UB40 and Bob Marley. Decarta’s latest single, ‘Having A Party Tonight’, was released to celebrate the end of lockdown.

After the band split up, guitarist Paddy honed his talents via a music course, hosted by Reggae star, Pato Banton. He also performed with a variety of musicians and bands. Paddy is working on an album of original music, and he recently appeared on a live Q&A with UB40.

The upbeat and lively, ‘Having A Party Tonight’, is certainly a bop of a track, and was certainly written to be danced to. Decarta recorded the song in a local recording studio, and the real instruments ensured the creativity flowed during the process.

Although ‘Having A Party Tonight’ was written a few years back, the Covid-19 Pandemic and subsequent lifting of lockdown gave the song new meaning. And in the lead up to Christmas this bleak midwinter we can certainly do with any excuse for a dance!
