Herstory – ‘My Time’

Chicago trio HERSTORY are a powerhouse girl group, whose synergy in unquestioned. The three, comprising Dhniera Blu, Arielle K, and Mandy A, knew they were meant to be after an intense and spontaneous karaoke session, and despite coming from different paths they are now uniting to share their stories as one. Telling history from a female perspective, HERSTORY stay true to a narrative that empowers all women. They were brought together by executive producer #TEAMJOHNHILL, a songwriter and producer who has worked with R. Kelly and 50 Cent, and while they could be said to resemble some girl groups of the past, such as Spice Girls, TLC, and so on, they’re true to their own style.

The new music video for HERSTORY’s single, ‘My Time’, makes it perfectly clear that the trio are prioritising their prime, by surrounding themselves with those people and places that are only going to build them up and set them on their onward journey. An uptempo pop track, it pulses with confidence and a self assurance that makes it an anthem to remind girls – and women – to know their own value. Like all good girl groups, HERSTORY tantalise fans by teasing a preview of their upcoming release, ‘Pony’, featuring straw hats, denim, and a vintage Cadillac. ‘My Time’ is the first taste of what HERSTORY has to come, and we can’t deny we’re definitely in the mood for more.
