Jaybandsome – ‘Looking Up’

New York teen Jaybandsome has it better than a lot of people when it comes to navigating the shark-filled waters of the music industry.

His sister, Dream Doll, is a rapper, social media star, and reality TV personality, featuring in such shows as ‘Bad Girls Club’, and ‘Love and Hip Hop’. He’s also had experience in the studio with Lougotcash, from Queens, as well as Vyse179, a rapper from the Bronx; both of whom pushed him further into the hip hop world. Jaybandsome’s debut single, ‘Looking Up’, is out through Hitmatic Records and NaturalBridge, and has quickly seen radio play from DJ Whutever and DJ Will Power, on New York 105.1.

For the music video that comes with ‘Looking Up’, Jaybandsome pays homage to his New York, and shows us around all of his hangs, as well as his high school in New Jersey. There’s no airs or graces, or bells and whistles, it’s just Jaybandsome and his crew, in their city, speaking their truth. He stands tall with his fast flow and bars that show his quick wit, with which he makes big moves, questioning any haters, “I was comin’ up while you was sleepin’ how you miss that?”. His chart success is highlighted in the clip, but the real star is Jaybandsome himself, whether he’s holding court in the studio, or shooting hoops with his friends under the George Washington Bridge. Jaybandsome isn’t just looking up: his star is soaring.
