During the global pandemic and stop-start lockdowns people gravity to forms of escapism and familiarity. One form of entertainment that ticks those boxes is music, and one pop outfit you should watch out for, is President Street.
Hailing from Australia, President Street are a duo comprising of musician and producer Peter Moses (whose love of music production has not only allowed him to develop his craft but also the opportunity to collaborate with contemporaries such as Ash Howes on the uplifting ‘Something To Believe’) and vocalist Ruby with her honeyed lead vocal – which is perfect for their brand of electronic pop.
Even with lockdown, the pair filmed their latest music video completely on their phones in Melbourne, Australia complete with slick editing and use of colour filters. The result was over 30,000 YouTube views and several positive reviews from the assembled music press.
This was in addition to their previous Top 5 hit on the Music Week charts for previous single ‘I Found Me, several headline performances, a stint on the Coffee House Sessions tour, a scheduled headline tour of Japan (unfortunately cancelled due to Covid-19), a growing social media presence and even a previous partnership with the Refugee employment charity Breaking Barriers (a unique organisation that provides an unparalleled service to address the systemic and economic integration from refugee communities).
There is something special about President Street with their strong work ethic, powerful material and strong production values and as the world looks towards the future so do they. Hopefully 2021 will allow them to tour more and continue their steady release output.
