Efa gets us up and dancing with her new single, ‘You So Smooth’. The fun single and video is a brilliant showcase for the immense vocal talents of the teenager from Glen Innes, northern New South Wales, Australia, who is currently studying for her Bachelor of Performing Arts at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
Efa dances her way through the clip, singing “you so smooth…just like a moonwalk”, which draws from the Motown girl group tradition, while at the same time making good use of modern musical techniques and styles.
Energetic and charismatic, Efa tells the tale of ill-fated young love, while at the same time giving it a positive spin. Efa’s background in jazz, contemporary, and musical theatre gives her a wide range of influences from which to take inspiration, and she also cites artists such as Beyoncé, Britney Spears, and BTS as having contributed to her style.
