Imogen Shute moved to Melbourne to follow her dream of becoming a recording artist. The Australian pop singer released her first song earlier this year, and with latest single, ‘Just For A Second’, we find her going from strength to strength, as her sound and image are imbued with a new confidence. Recorded at Truth Studios, the track is set for release on August 15.
Imogen describes her sound as “seductive and moody”, and her aim with her music is for her listeners to find their own confidence, embrace their own sex appeal, and basically feel good about themselves.
‘Just For A Second’ takes on the common theme of “right people wrong time”, as Imogen thinks about a “what if” situation, with the lyrics leaving nothing to the imagination. Imogen’s unique sultry vocal styling is paired with a pulsating rhythm which acts like a heartbeat.
Imogen cites as her inspirations the likes of Halsey, Billie Eilish, and Lana Del Rey, but ultimately, her sound is all her own.
