LA singer-songwriter Nick Isham has recently dropped a short film for his song ‘Alone Tonight’. It’s an incredibly moving piece of work that will bring a tear to your eye. You can watch the video in full below:
The video – which was directed by Lexington Isham – centres around a taboo topic that we don’t hear often in music. We see issues with addiction after losing a loved one. We all deal with grief in different ways and it’s a part of life that not everybody knows how to get through. Some keep themselves to themselves, others turn to other substances to try and cope. With that being said, this short film will certainly resonate with many.
When talking about the track, Nick says:
“Alone Tonight is a song I wrote for someone who was no longer in my life. I really wanted to express the longing and hurt that I felt while alone in my room without that person around anymore – because if you’ve been there before, you know how empty of a feeling that can be… For those of you who have lost someone, whether they are simply no longer in your life like they used to be, or they have moved on to a better place, this song is for you and whoever it is you lost. We made this music video/ short film as an ode to those who we have lost. And as a reminder to be present and grateful for those who we still have around us. For me, family always comes first. And with this short film we wanted to show how important family is (whether blood-related or not), and how important it is to be there for the one’s you love. I am a big advocate against drug and alcohol abuse, so I wanted to bring awareness to the problems that excessive drug and alcohol use can cause.”
Nick has a pure talent for storytelling within his lyrics. He has managed to develop his own unique sound that will touch people’s souls and hearts everywhere. After listening to ‘Alone Tonight’, and watching the tremendous short film, you will be craving for more. Make sure you’re following his Facebook and Instagram for more updates on future releases.
