7 Days To Go Until Worcestershire’s Star Packed Sunshine Festival!

It’s hard to believe but the Sunshine Festival is only a week away! Packed full of huge names such as Jedward, Busted, The Osmonds, Scouting For Girls, Boyzlife, and 10cc – among many many more, the three day event is set to be the highlight of the summer!

Celebrating their tenth year, Sunshine Festival have almost fully sold out the August Bank Holiday event, with only very limited weekend camping tickets still available.

Friday looks like getting the party started hard with headline acts including East 17, 911, and The Osmonds!

The Osmonds have been entertaining the world for over 50 years, starting back in 1963 when eldest brothers Alan, Wayne, Merrill, and Jay recorded their first album.

They were later joined by Donny, Marie, and youngest brother Jimmy, and collectively and individually, The Osmonds have released over 200 albums.

Over their massively successful recording career, The Osmonds have sold over 100 million albums around the world, including 59 gold and platinum records. Their song, ‘Love Me For A Reason’, originally released in 1974, once again became an international smash 20 years later, when it was covered by Boyzone.

The Osmonds have never stopped recording, and even now are still fronted by Merrill and Jay.

East 17 were founded in 1992, with their name derived from the postcode for the London suburb of Walthamstow.

Racking up eighteen singles in the top 20, and four albums in the top 10, they were one of the most famous acts to come out of the early to mid 1990s, finding international success. Their image was in stark contrast to the traditional wholesome boy band, and instead they were seen to be “grittier”, and “more real”, as they blended rap and pop in their songs, which included ‘House Of Love’, and ‘Steam’. They weren’t afraid to tackle political issues either, with singles such as ‘Let It Rain’. The song, which addressed face on human conflict, saw significant international chart success, including the Number 1 spot in Israel.

911 comprises Lee Brennan, Jimmy Constable, and Spike Dawbarn, and was founded in 1995, with their debut single, ‘Night To Remember’, released the following year.

‘Don’t Make Me Wait’ hit the number 10 spot on the UK charts, and was followed by nine further top 10 hits, including ‘A Little Bit More’. They broke up in 2000, but got back together in 2009, and have been performing around the UK ever since.
