With just over three weeks to go until the Sunshine Festival, we thought we’d introduce you to some of the artists performing, including some of their more recent releases.
The line-up is a mix of legendary artists and newer faces, but one thing they all have in common is they’re all still releasing music, and are can guarantee an incredible live show for everyone!
Here’s our first three artists:
Scouting For Girls – ‘Grown Up’
We spoke with SFG’s Greg Churchouse a couple of years ago, ahead of the 10 year anniversary release of their self-titled debut album. Since then the trio have been working on their fifth album, ‘The Trouble With Boys’, which is set for release on September 20.
“We love making music that connects with people in a really fun, happy way. I love writing songs which I know are going to connect with ten thousand people in a field. We’ve always been an amazing party band. We’re the band playing in the middle of the afternoon at a festival, that everyone wants to see because they know it’s going to be fun. They know it’s going to be a laugh.”
“With Scouting For Girls, the glass is definitely, always half full. I really enjoy looking at what we’ve done, but I also enjoy where we are at the moment. It is a very happy place to be.”
Their new album, ‘The Trouble With Boys’, set for release on September 20th follows on from lead single ‘Grown Up’, which the group co-wrote with James Blunt.
“So many bands don’t get to do this.”
When they first started, Scouting For Girls felt there was always pressure associated with each achievement. Now things are different.
“It was so full on all of the time, but now we have an amazing level of success where we just enjoy every moment.”

Jedward – ‘Extraordinary’
If you’ve somehow missed that we really love Jedward here at EP, then we’ve not been doing our job properly.
Nearly 28, twins John and Edward Grimes commemorate ten years in the music business in August and released their fourth album, ‘Voice Of A Rebel’, in June via Universal Music Singapore. The song we’ve chosen, ‘Extraordinary’, was showcased during Jedward’s recent tour of the UK, along with three other songs from the new album. ‘Extraordinary’ was an instant success, and if John and Ed choose to perform it at the Sunshine Festival it’s sure to go down well!
You can keep up to date with Jedward on their official website, and also social media, where they’re on Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook, as well as their two YouTube channels, JedwardTV, and JedwardVEVO.
Busted – ‘Shipwrecked In Atlantis’
Busted have been around for nearly 20 years (shocking to think!) and released their fifth album, ‘Halfway There’ back in February this year.
The trio, comprising James Bourne, Matt Willis, and Charlie Simpson, formed in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, way back in 2000, and have had four number 1 hits in the UK, as well as won two Brit Awards.
They disbanded – busted, you might say – in 2005, reforming as a trio in 2016, after pursuing other projects. Known for their fun outlook on life, while still being serious musicians, Busted will put on a great show. It’s worth noting that James Bourne is great mates with John and Edward as well – so who knows? Maybe we’ll see an on-stage collaboration during the festival, given Jedward and Busted are both performing on the Saturday!
