Nate Currin – ‘Heart On The Run’

Nate Currin writes modern folk songs with a single-minded intensity and a care to the nuances of the English language that have seen him go to any length to perfect his craft. His new single, ‘Heart On The Run’, is a perfect example of his talent.

Currin has toured all over the world, sharing the stage with Jars Of Clay, Butch Walker, Neon Trees, Blues Traveler, and many others he might call kindred spirits. His latest set, ‘Ashes On Earth’, builds on his previous release, ‘The Madman And The Poet’, and was recorded in Gainesville, Georgia, and contains some of the most frank, honest, and direct songs he’s ever written.

‘Heart On The Run’ contains plain-speaking, candid verses, which build up to a spellbinding chorus which is both delicate and powerful. It comes with a stunning music video as well, we see Currin in an old house, sparsely, yet tastefully decorated, with its architecture having a timeless appeal. Currin is singing to a woman who’s on the run: she packs a suitcase, and escapes to the sea, hitchhiking on the highway. Currin meanwhile, is seen sitting by his marble fireplace, pouring out his heart to the now empty house, which was once their home.
