Trav Torch – ‘Bachelor Life’

Newark New Jersey artist Trav Torch is no stranger to EP. We wrote about his track, ‘Quarter Tank Of Gas’ back in 2016. Now, with his latest single, ‘Bachelor Life’, he’s drawn a line under all the game playing, he’s putting his heart and soul into his music, and he’s letting us know why he’s now pursuing the ‘Bachelor Life’.

The latest single, from the album of the same name, sees Trav with a whole new game to what he’s played before. Previously he’s always been the one to get the girl and drive off into the sunset. Now, in his own words, he didn’t want to “pull over, so I had to change lanes”. It’s a dark track, with the flow weaving in and out about dropping relationships, and his frustration with dating in the modern world. There’s no drama, just Trv being honest about where he’s at right now.

The video for ‘Bachelor Life’ is fast and furious at just under two minutes. We see Trav wearing a “Bachelor Life” hoodie, and the setting features pastel lit walls, of purple, and pink, and a shot of Trav behind bars, comparing being in a bad relationship is like being in gaol. Trav’s gaze is mesmerising and the viewer feels compelled to follow him. We feel alone in the room with him, serenaded.
