Dreampop artist and multi-instrumentalist FMFL has followed up his debut album, ‘Functional Music For Lovers’, with a timely EP, released 20 December, and just ahead of Christmas.
‘Abandoned Christmas Tree’ is a 6 track EP of holiday music, bringing a melancholic, yet playful approach to the seasonal classics we all know. FMFL styles his music as a pixel art aesthetic, and this EP makes the listener feel that this is what Christmas would be like in SuperMario World.
‘Abandoned Christmas Tree’ is more than just a quirky Christmas album however. FMFL has a more serious element to the release, in that he is fundraising for the Homeless Charity 999Club, who care for the homeless of Lewisham, South East London.

‘Abandoned Christmas Tree’ is available to pre-order on a “name your price” basis, with a minimum donation of 50p. Any donations above £5 will automatically be entered to win a Folio Society edition of Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’.

We wrote about FMFLs debut album back in July. The album was also featured on Bandcamp’s ‘New And Notable’ on its release, and has also been featured in a number of online blogs and magazines, such as Threshold magazine, Obscure Sound, TMDQA, and Super45.
