Paul van Dyk’s ninth studio album, set for release later this Autumn, is preceded by the title track, ‘Music Rescues Me’. The track sees Paul joined on vocals by Plumb, who gave his 2012 release, ‘I Don’t Deserve You’ much of its hard-hitting emotion. ‘Music Rescues Me’ was co-written by van Dyk’s long time good friend, Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid.
Paul and Plumb’s previous collaboration was three whole albums ago, van Dyk’s ‘Evolution’ album, released in 2012. The pair stayed in close contact, waiting for the right project, which arose after a song-writing session between Paul and Johnny. Van Dyk explains,
“It took a little while, but in ‘Music Rescues Me’, I knew we had the right follow-up for Plumb,” Paul says.
The video for ‘Music Rescues Me’ is tranquil, and yet energetic, with a positive-thinking and feeling chorus, set alongside imaginatively stimulating verses. Instrumentally the track features epic, reverb-rich guitars, as well as dynamic rhythms.
Paul van Dyk was recently awarded the Trance Master Award at the 21st annual DJ awards, and the launch for Music Rescues Me will take place at new London club, The Printworks, on the same day as the album’s release, October 12.
