Barbra Streisand has revealed the audio for ‘Lady Liberty’, a beautiful collaboration with Desmond Child, and the third track to come from her new album, ‘Walls’, set for release on Noember 2.
In speaking of the track, Barbra said,
“The Statue of Liberty’s proud torch is a shining beacon of light that has welcomed generations of men, women and children to our shores. They came from different lands, with different religions, languages, and cultures — but all came seeking the same American dream. The subject of immigration is complex and requires deep contemplation, not knee-jerk reactions. Lately, I think if you look up at her face, you’ll see tears falling from Lady Liberty’s eyes. “
‘Lady Liberty’ follows on from ‘Don’t Lie To Me‘, which came with a video conceived of and directed by Barbra herself, and the magnificent reimagining of ‘Imagine’/What A Wonderful World‘.
The eleven track album ‘Walls’ is set for release on November 2, and is Streisand’s first album since 2005 to contain primarily original songs.
