Adam Ant’s choice of support for both his North American and UK tours, Glam Skanks are no strangers to our regular readers. So it was bittersweet to read that original member and co-founder Ali Cat was leaving for greener pastures. It’s not all bad news however, as Vanessa Von Lust is taking up the mantle as lead singer of the glitter rock band.
The band made the annoucement via their Instagram page:
SKANK YOU VERY MUCH! Best Year Ever!!!!!! Looking back at 2017, we can honestly say that discipline, perseverance and gratitude, can make dreams come true.
We started out last year with our first (major) tour; proud to support the iconic Adam Ant, performing on some of the most prestigious stages in the North American and the United Kingdom, including the Fillmore West in San Francisco, and Royal Albert Hall in London, thanks to Adam and his band; who we can now call our friends.
We played over 100 shows this year and poured glitter on 1000s of new friends and fans!
For any musician, a dream come true.
The trials and tribulations of touring confirm that more than ever, this is exactly what were born to do: Travel the world, making our music and meeting awesome people!
2017 was by far the most exciting and most humbling year that we could ever have hoped for, and we send our sincere gratitude to everyone that came out to the shows: our friends,fans,family and everyone behind the scenes that support us.
2018 is off to an exciting, if bittersweet start.
We must bid farewell to the one-and-only Ali Cat.
Thank you, Ali. We wouldn’t be here without you.
Your bright smile, possessed-performances and excitement for life is always contagious.
We will always hold dear the memories, and wish Ali Cat all the best in her future.

We are thrilled to introduce our new lead vocalist, @vanessavonlust to the Glam Skanks Family.
Our first performance of the year will be in Phoenix Arizona, at the Celebrity Theater and then off to Florida for three shows that were canceled last September, (due to hurricanes) completing our commitment to our fans, and finishing off the Adam Ant ANTHEMS – The Singles tour.
In 2018, we will be working on a new record and performing across the US and the UK.
