With influences including synth pop and modern day electro, JIVE64’s new single, ‘Side By Side’ is the centre of their campaign which aims to raise money and awareness for the suffering and lack of human rights of the LGBTQ community in Chechnya.
‘Side By Side’ is an energetic electro rave with vocal inspiration from the likes of Bonnie Tyler, and is about people coming together and stand strong in the face of adversity, while at the same time opposing those who deny the rights of others.
JIVE64 are Ella Tadmor on vocals, and Ray Cohen, the composer and producer. The pair’s very good working relationship is commendable considering they’re based in Dublin and Tel Aviv.
The duo have already begun a crowdfunding project and will donate all money from sales of their new single to helping those of the LGBTQ community who are struggling, especially in Chechnya. So far they’ve raised €3000 from their crowdfunder.
‘Side By Side’ is accompanied by a music video which features the drag kings and queens from DUYA, who volunteered their time for free to help the cause, while the single itself was produced with the assistance of the Grammy Award nominated Pen Up Girls, with the hope that their contribution would help raise awareness of the campaign.
‘Side By Side’ is out on December 15, and can be pre-ordered from iTunes.
You can find JIVE64 online on Facebook, Instagram, and SoundCloud.
