The Dice – ‘Streetlights’

A four-piece from Ferrara, Italy, The Dice formed 8 years ago, and are making waves with their blend of rock, pop and surf music. Their new album, ‘Showcase Come Alive’, together with latest release ‘Streetlights’, is set to put them on a new level.

Enrico and Giulio Testi wanted to start a band in their first year of high school. They put up flyers, and recruited Nicolo Tumiati and, later, Giovanni Zabardi. Their next challenge came with songwriting: do they write in Italian, and stay local, or look to a future where they’d be appreciated on a global level. It was a no brainer – The Dice were fluent in English, as a result of their obsession with music and art.

Their album, ‘Showcase Come Alive’, features a diverse range of styles and influences, with the ten tracks taking the listener on a journey through the band’s youth. ‘Streetlights’ fully expresses the emotion on this album, with drums pounding like a heartbeat, a walking bass-line, screaming guitar solo, and a punchy, hooky vocal tying it all together.

The video for ‘Streetlights’ is edgy and slick, reminding us of the coming of age films from the 80s and 90s, with its muted colours and partying, fights, underground clubs, and girls. It’s perfectly matched to the rocky track, and together they should take The Dice far.

‘Showcase Come Alive’ is available from CD Baby and Amazon. You can find The Dice online on Twitter and Facebook.
