Born in France but moving to Chicago with his family at the age of seven, Matt LeGrand found his musical inspiration and soon learned to play guitar and drums, followed soon after by songwriting, experimenting with bands, and then finding his own sound.
Taking his queues from pop artists including Nick Jonas and Justin Bieber, Matt nonetheless has a style of his very own, with booming beats, unforgettable memories, and a definitive energy.
Matt’s new single, ‘All Good’, was written by a team in Atlanta and Matt told The New Nine about when he first heard the song:
“I like to think that the song found me. It came to me at a time in my life where everything it was saying just made so much sense to me…. The song’s about being OK with yourself.”
There’s a Caribbean feel to the song, which took him out of his comfort zone, but he nonetheless embraces it with gusto. The video shows the Caribbean-y beach theme of the track, although it was shot in Miami in the one day. We see Matt and his lady love break up, but he instead is concentrating on his own personal happiness:
“Since you walked up out my life, I’m all good.”
The song is an encouragement to look after yourself, because if you don’t, nobody else will.
