KemmyĆ© – ‘Forever’

LA born but Houston raised, Jessica Robinson, who performs as KemmyƩ has been writing and singing songs since she was 10 years old. She cites her influences as including Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, and Aaliyah, and wows her audiences with her beautiful vocals.

KemmyĆ© released her demo album last spring, which featured her original songs, ‘I Need The Old You’, and ‘Forever’. This has led her to being a guest on Houston radio stations such as 953 JAMZ. She’s also created videos for her music, and is now working on new songs for her next album.

The video for ‘Forever’ shows KemmyĆ© at home, longing for some alone time with her love. He on the other hand would rather go out with his friends. She confronts him, and discovers where his priorities lie – not with her. At the end of the video, when the friends are kicked out, KemmyĆ©’s refrain is, “I want you forever’. The video and song become less about this particular boyfriend and more about what standards her ideal man must have. The video is shot in a simple location, but is lit beautifully, with the storyline a very relatable narrative.

You can find out more about KemmyĆ© online on her official website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Soundcloud. ‘Forever’ is available from iTunes and Spotify.
