Originally from the Northern, Southern, and Western parts of Norway, Liverpool-based I SEE RIVERS are set to release their debut EP, ‘Standing Barefoot’ in April this year. The single, ‘DA RUM’ precedes the launch, which will take place at London’s St Luke’s Chapel, on 20 April.
I SEE RIVERS is made up of Eline, Gøril and Lill, whose sound reminds us of fellow Norwegian artists, Katzenjammer, describe their music as “Float Folk”, comprising memorable melodies and untraditional harmonies. The group released their single, ‘Loved Ones’ and toured around rural Norway, as well as performing at festivals including Belladrum, in Scotland, Green Man (Wales), and Malakoff, in their native Norway. Their biggest tour so far was supporting Newton Faulkner on his UK dates.
‘DA RUM’ is the lead single from their debut EP, ‘Standing Barefoot’. It’s a softly up-tempo, very jolly track, focusing on the band’s gorgeous harmonies.
“Their music is delicate Folk Pop based around clever vocal arrangements, and outstanding vocals. They just look so natural performing together, and have a level of cohesion that is genuine, rare and pretty special too.” – Nordic Music Review
“Perhaps the hottest prospect from Norway’s consistent excellent outpouring of specially tender bands, this now UK-based trio make the kind of indefinable Scandinavian magic that instantly catches the eyes and ears. Part-folk, part swooning pop songs.” – Green Man Festival 2016.
