J-Anthony, from Toledo, Ohio, is a singer songwriter who takes pop, rock, and funk, and fuses them together to create his own unique style. J-Anthony’s single, ‘It’s Official’, was released on January 13.
J-Anthony’s music aims to reach people of all ages and ethnicities, with its crafty lyrics and beautiful harmonies. ‘It’s Official’ will have you hitting repeat – the strong funky guitar and percussion is perfectly blended with laid-back vocals and the message, in the words of J-Anthony, “about a guy not ashamed to let the world know he found his perfect woman”, is a positive one most of us can relate to.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, J-Anthony comes from a musical family, and started out singing in Church. He gained a track scholarship to college, but gave up his final year in track to pursue music. Once out of college, J-Anthony took a job working with young people as a high school principal.
Music always his first passion however: J-Anthony started a covers band, and won the “City Paper Best Band Award”. His next project is writing his own music, and he’s brought together a band of talented musicians, whose aim is to make music that crosses boundaries and everyone will enjoy.
