Rich Slade – ‘Gaia’

Rich Slade, from Norwich, has produced a number of variations on his new single, ‘Gaia’. Four of these versions will be released on November 1, including the official song.

‘Gaia’, the original track, has a Roots Reggae feel to it, with Rich recording all the vocals, guitar, and bass parts. He then used musical software effects to record other instruments, and edited loops for the drums and percussion.

‘Gaia’, named for the Greek goddess of Earth (Gaia is the daughter of Chaos, as well as the mother – and wife – of Uranus, with whom she bore the Titans). The single was recorded in Rich’s home studio, and explores the formula of unrequited love, while drawing parallels amongst the relationships between would-be lovers, life partners, humans, and their planet.

‘Gaia’ is available to preorder from iTunes. Find out more about Rich Slade online on his Facebook page.
