Oxfordshire-born music duo OMYO have been plucked from obscurity to soundtrack and star in New Look’s Autumn/Winter fashion campaign. Debut single ‘Lady’, released today, is accompanied by a full length video created by New Look featuring the band and a host of models sporting the latest from the brand’s forthcoming collection.
Tom McCorkell (lead vocals) and William Edward (music, vocals) are OMYO, and their tropical pop hit was cherry-picked by the high street fashion brand to complement its latest collections and will be heard up and down the UK from this morning.
The track has been described as “reggae-infused pop with crisp production that cuts right through” by Record of the Day (July 2016) and “guaranteed to make you smile in the sunshine.”
OMYO’s debut single lands following support for the band from BBC Radio 1Xtra, appearances at Wireless Festival and ahead of performing at Nozstock Festival in Herefordshire next weekend with BBC Introducing in Hereford and Worcester.
‘Lady’, co-written by William and Tom, is a tropical summer jam, with infectious hooks and a soft hitting chorus. Its pop-friendly vibe and earwormy sound will be sure to feature on many a party playlist this summer.
The single is available to purchase now via iTunes and also available on streaming services including Spotify. Check out more from OMYO on Soundcloud.
