The band provides the perfect blend of indie guitar with electronica; something reminiscent to The Foals, New Order, and Bloc Party. ‘Colourblind’ and ‘Star Crossed Lovers’ showcase the ethereal guitar melodies of frontman Johnny Holland and the upbeat and dynamic tempos that Passion Falls produce.

‘Colourblind’ incorporates an electronic sound with heavy ambient ethereal guitar which really displays Passion Falls uncanny ability to combine the two styles seamlessly. The song starts with subtle electronic rhythms that begin to build and then eventually explode into a chorus part that really opens up on the instruments and vocals.

‘Star Crossed Lovers’ shows the other side of Passion Falls as it sways from the electronica while leaning more toward an Americana style. The song starts off mostly with acoustic guitar and then begins to add a steady tempo with the drums while gradually adding more layers of instrumentation. The breakdown settles the song back down but then leads into a crescendo style ending that creates a great memorable climax to the song.

“Switching between indie and electronics, the material has a glowing, glistening feel, reminiscent of the art house side of Talk Talk, for example, while still being resolutely pop”

The Greatest Adventure was recorded in London with producer Dave Pemberton (Prodigy, Groove Armada) and Manchester with Jim Spencer (New Order, The Charlatans, Johnny Marr) and has a sound that is influenced by both. Last month Passion Falls made their live debut in Manchester at Gorilla playing with Australian band Fairchild which was sure to be an amazing show.
