Yorkshire band FANS have released a great video for the title track of their debut EP, ‘Born Into’. A totally DIY project, the video was made by the band’s friend in their basement:
“we got the idea from Alejandro Gonzalez’s film Birdman, where the whole film is just one continuous camera shot with no cuts or edits.”
Frontman Dan Louch said about the track,
“We’ve had this song a long time, it was written well over a year ago so it feels good to be getting it out there finally. It’s seems to have grown in relevance since we first wrote it which is weird as some of the lyrics are pretty autobiographical, especially the first two verses. The song idea came about from stories my mum had told me about her childhood, loads of funny Steptoe & Son kind of stuff – like they didn’t have duvets and used to have to sleep under my granddad’s coat in winter.”
FANS are on tour, and can be seen in London tonight at the Sebright Arms. You can also catch them at Nation Of Shopkeepers in Leeds on the 18th of September, and the 26th of September they’re back in London at the Amersham Arms.
FANS’ EP ‘Born Into’ will be released later this year. You can find FANS online on Facebook, SoundCloud, Twitter, Instagram, and their website.
