Dennis J. Leise grew up outside Pittsburgh, in rural Pennsylvania, along with a long stretch in Chicago, but now makes his home on his urban farm in unincorporated Gary, Indiana. Gary has allowed Dennis both accessibility to the music scene he’s entrenched himself in, as well as the solitude of working the land. He was recently featured in the Chicago Reader, in a piece called, “Dennis J. Leise grows his own”, which highlighted the successful, if unconventional, balancing act he performs, of having his cake and eating, too.

Leise had spent the bulk of his music career playing in the clubs of Chicago, but got tired of having to pay through the nose for the privilege of performing, despite pulling in large enough crowds. He decided enough was enough and upped sticks and moved 25 miles away – to Gary, Indiana, famous for being the hometown of the Jackson Family.
