Released on the 11th of July this year, ‘Mafeesh Ba3deeky’ is the second studio album for Egyptian pop artist, Itreu. Seven tracks long, the album looks at individual moments between heartbreak, hope, and healing, building up to a complete journey through the experience.

Taking contemporary Arabic pop and blending it with a range of alternative influences, as well as nostalgic melodies and modern production methods, ‘Mafeesh Ba3deeky’ takes the listener through acoustic organic arrangements, right through to more rhythmic, upbeat sounds. While the Arabic rhythms are at the heart of the album’s sound, it also benefits from the acoustic guitars, layered vocal harmonies, atmospheric synths, and warm piano, none of which overpower the lyrics’ emotional heart.
Each track averages 2 and a half minutes long, ensuring that the album can be listened right through relatively quickly. The songs were primarily written and composed by Abdelrahman Attia, and performed by Itreu, and recorded over time through a collaborative studio process in Egypt. Production meanwhile features MJBeats, Sba3y Beats, Omar Maher and Ibrahim El Trabeshy, the latter of whom was also responsible for mixing and mastering many of the tracks tracks.
Itreu’s debut album, ‘Negoum El Leil’, denoted his start as a recording artist, following several years of writing and creating songs in private. Inspired by classic and contemporary Arabic music, as well as alternative and indie artists, Itreu’s style focuses on emotion and storytelling, further shaped by the eight years he spent living in Spain.
