Michelle Galas Wants Us To Groove With Her On Latest Release, ‘Keep The Feel In’

Michelle Galas believes that the joy of movement is the very essence of what music is meant to be, and she certainly conveys this with latest release, ‘Keep The Feel In’.

A musical pioneer who grew up surrounded by music in the French Caribbean archipelago of Guadeloupe, and was inspired by her singer father and saxophonist uncle. Naturally, under such conditions, her passion for music blossomed, and at the age of 18, after moving to France, she recorded her first demo, leading her to pursuing a songwriting career in the UK. Move forward a few years and a few hit singles later, and we see Michelle in a position to redefine what dance music can be, her sound expressing melodicism, experimentation, and intelligence that we so rarely see in the genre of contemporary dance music.

While it’ll be clear to listeners that Michelle has echoes of female pop icons, the likes of Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Cyndi Lauper in her sound, it’s nonetheless the tropical, nostalgic, and international that truly characterises her music.

New single ‘Keep The Feel In’ comes ahead of her debut EP, and is a soul-stirring, pulse-pounding, ever-fresh sound. There’s powerful saxophone, that never lets up with the energy, while Michelle’s vocals soar as she urges her audience to leave their troubles behind, and instead celebrate what really matters – in her case, love and dancing.

Speaking of ‘the song, Michelle Galas says, “Never give up on love in all its forms, even when life brings difficulties. That’s what ‘Keep The Feel In’ is about – staying open, staying true, and always keeping the groove alive…”

The music video for ‘Keep The Feel In’ was self-directed by Michelle in London, recognised all over the world for its vibrant, diverse, and ever-evolving nightlife, and the place Michelle Galas nowadays calls home. We see her take to the streets, dominating them as if she was born to them, and, with bold visual effects, quick cuts, and shimmering cityscapes, her passion and positivity are on display to all.

Michelle and her dancers quickly move from one London landmark to the next – starting on Oxford Street, then on to Buckingham Palace, the embankment of the River Thames, and to the London Eye. All the while they are completely absorbed in the music, unable to stop dancing, and their enthusiasm bubbling just below the surface. Infectious and alluring, even tourists and passersby join in the fun, showing that music is something that we can all relate to.
