HighWay Know Which Road They’re Taking With ‘HI-WAY’

HighWay are set to release their sixth album, ‘Last Call For Rock’n’Roll’ on the 24th of April this year, and so we present the first of two new songs, ‘HI-WAY’.

Formed back in the late 90s in the South of France by brothers Ben and Romain Chambert, HighWay have spent more than 25 years honing their skills, while remaining true to their roots in hard rock.

Their inspirations are clearly the likes of AC/DC, Aerosmith, Queen, Def Leppard, The Beatles, and Whitesnake, among others, but they also draw influence from blues, soul, funk, and heavier metal, and their sound has seen them perform more than 400 shows across Europe.

‘HI-WAY’ came about from the simple realisation that, in all their years together, HighWay had never written a song about the band themselves. With a steady driving groove, supported by massive riffs, the track is fast moving and groovy, while mirroring the ups and downs of life on the road. Speaking about the track, Ben Chambert says, “Lyrically, it’s an invitation to hit the road and never look back. It’s an anthem for audacious souls, where love fuels the journey and routine is left behind”. The music video allows the listener to concentrate on the pure sound of the band, while drawing clever comparisons to classic clips like Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. It also serves as an introduction to HighWay’s new band members, guitarist Florian Arnaud and bassist Cerise Pouillart.
