Out now, Duane Hoover‘s ‘When The Morning Comes’ brings with it more of his signature “British Invasion” sound. Not bad for a boy from Atlanta.
An outtake from his latest album, ‘Wayward Path’, the track contains much of the catchy Kinks-style, with his snarling vocals and jangly guitar. Hoover also manages to channel The Who in his guitar playing, and it’s easy to imagine Pete Townshend windmilling along with the chorus, which at times is reminiscent of their classic, ‘I Can’t Explain’.
Although ‘When The Morning Comes’ is a B-side that didn’t make the final cut for ‘Wayward Path’, it’s still approached with all the class and dedication of the rest that did. The selection must have been arduous, if this is an example of the tracks that got left on the cutting room floor, thankfully Hoover has seen fit to release it as a single.
