Bicentennial Drug Lord Are ‘Caught Wishing’ With Latest Track From Album, ‘You Are Never Alone’

Following on from last month’s single, ‘Iggy Pop‘, Milwaukee’s Bicentennial Drug Lord return with more of their seventies-flavoured pop rock, and are ‘Caught Wishing’.

Guitars jangle, accompanying the world-weary Tom Petty-esque vocals, while the steady drum beat pulls it all together, fully capturing the atmosphere of a late-night dive bar where dreams can accidentally become something you never intended at the start of the evening.

While ‘Iggy Pop’ centred on a life once lived, regretting the choices made, and wishing back to those times before it became all too much, ‘Caught Wishing’ is about capturing the opportunities where they land, and perhaps inflating them into something more than they actually are, as expressed in the refrain,

These tall boy cans and tobacco stained hands

Can only carry you so far

You best be careful ideas turn into promises

Growing old in a Bay View bar

Like ‘Iggy Pop’, ‘Caught Wishing’ is from Bicentennial Drug Lord’s upcoming album, ‘You Are Never Alone’, out now.
