Released on December 13, 2024, ‘All I Want’ is the hotly anticipated single from Freddy Even. The emerging artist brings to his song of unrequited love, a blend of pop rock influences born out of a lifetime’s love of music.

Right from the very first note, ‘All I Want’ is a certifiable bop. Deeply resonant, the song focuses on the complex nature of love and being in love when it’s not reciprocated. Backed by a tinkling piano, and at times almost jazz rhythms, Freddy’s vocals are powerful and tinged with a sort of world-weariness, as he sings of the destructive qualities of a love that verges on obsessive, and suffocating – while remaining wholly captivating.
Speaking about ‘All I Want’, Freddy says,
“The closer you get, the harder it is to let go. You know it’s not right, but something keeps pulling you back, and you follow, like a dance you can’t step out of”.
You know that you’re ultimately going to get hurt, but you can’t help but be drawn in. While the song was written in just a few minutes, it’s very relatable, and surprisingly, it took Freddy some time to feel brave enough to share it with the wider world. Thankfully he did, and it’s just the first of many songs to come from this rising star.
“Over time, I faced my fears of stepping into the music industry because I realized that, despite all the delays, my path was always leading to this release. There’s nothing that brings me more joy than playing my music and hearing someone say: ‘That’s exactly how I feel.’”.
It might be said that Freddy Even had no other choice than to be musical. His mother is a pianist and his father an organist, and so music was always a part of his life. He even watched Mozart concerts and Blues performances on television as a very young child, and by five years old he was already playing the violin, and by 12 he was trying his hand at the electric guitar. While he was interested in playing music, it wasn’t until he was 16, and discovered the works of The Beatles that he decided to write his own songs. Thankfully for us that he did!
